PERRYSVILLE — Fred E. Harper, Jr., 61, Perrysville, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Aug. 31, 1938 in Danville, Ill. he was the son of Fred Eugene and Leora May Gritton Harper. He married Martha Wernigk March 4, 1961, she survives. He was attended Perrysville Schools and had been a life resident of the Perrysville area, moving to Gessie in 1988. He was a Dryer Operator for edible casing at TeePak for 23 years. He had received a heart transplant seven years ago. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and people. Survivors include: mother, Leora Harper, Covington; sons, Brian (Angie) Harper, Dallas Texas, Larry (Kim) Harper, Danville, Ill.; sister, Alice (Robert) Wernigk, Muncie, Ill.; brothers, William (Julie) Harper, Covington, Don (Carol) Harper, West Lebanon, Jack (Loretta) Harper, State Line; granddaughter, Becky harper, Danville, Ill. He was proceeded in death by his father; sister; and a grandson. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Home with Kenneth M. Cameron officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Covington. – jlr
